Mobile Casinos and the End of Flash?

This past week Adobe confirmed that it will not develop Flash for mobile devices like smartphone any longer with devices by Android and other companies and this will impact the mobile gaming industry but not necessarily for the worse.

The end of this Flash era since Adobe released it Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.59 last week as a major updated for the Android devices and accordingly to Adobe the company will continue to provide security patches for the Android users, and that no further versions of the player will be available.  They did however say that it would focus on the HTML5 as it is now the universally supported on all big mobile devices hence it is the best solution for developing and creating content in a browser across mobile platforms.

Consequently those mobile gamblers owning and with Android devices will benefit both from the security standpoint and from the different innovations as the removal of flash actually reduces outside threats to the operating system and just recently we saw the release by Microgaming last week their release of Android Air, a casino platform that is based on technology from Adobe and the platform allows for rapid game development and the fact the casinos can display a wider range of games for the smartphone operating systems. Thus far they have an addition Eight games on the Android Platform and by the end of this year they anticipate another 20 new games will be available at All Slots Mobile and other mobile casinos and those games will feature a much more navigable interface with instant access to the mobile casino’s main lobby, bonus and banking promotions that they feature.

At present, Flash can create things not possible using HTML5, especially with game content. However, future development is likely to surpass all things Flash as more and more companies turn to HTML5 for game creation. The fifth edition of the HTML language is still under development and will take a couple of years before it becomes standard across browsers. During this time it is likely development trends will turn away from Flash and toward the future of HTML5.
