Introduction to Big Six

What's covered on this page:
- House Edge for Each Bet Type
- Big Six Strategy
- Overview

Big Six is a very popular game in that it is fun and reminiscent of a game you might find at an amusement park. It has a large wheel and is often called the wheel of fortune. The game can really make your eyes bug out simply because there are 54 stops along the wheel. In 52 of them there is paper money in various denominations from single dollar bills all the way up to $20!

A logo and a joker comprise the other two stops. The game is not as easy as turning the wheel and winning what is in the slot where the wheel stops. Instead, it is a little more complicated and this makes the game that much more enjoyable. For instance, you have to bet on where the wheel will stop. You choose the denomination or the symbol and then bet your money. Should the wheel land there then you will win just what you wagered on per $1 wagered. The following table proves helpful in showing what bets result in on Big Six!

As you can see, there are some bets that obviously pay pretty well while others don’t. It all depends on how much you bet and what you bet on in addition to where the wheel stops. You can see you are most likely to win $1 then $2. In fact, you are more than 70% likely to win one of these denominations. After that, the percentages go down significantly and the house edged starts to go up.

Strategy

If you are interested in strategy and what will give you the best odds of winning every time then you can look at the table and see that a $1 bet gives you a really good shot at winning. It has the lowest house edge, too, which is important. If you just want to blow money and try your luck then you can bet on anything. However, the best bet strategically speaking is betting on $1 every time.

Many players like to pay attention to where the wheel stopped and then gauge how far it will spin to determine what to bet on. The dealer will likely spin the wheel in opposite directions each time, or alternate periodically. Keep this in mind if you are using this method to help you bet on the wheel. In general, your strategy of trying to guess where the wheel will land is not going to be overly helpful and it will even take the fun out of the game. So have fun guessing and stick with the smart bets if you want to get ahead.

Overview

It might not seem possible but Big Six ahs terrible odds. In fact, this game has worse odds than any other table game there is. Should the dealer have a consistent spin gotten you might consider a bet on joker or logo. You really have to pay attention to be able to decide if this is a good idea or not.
