Hungarian Language

Hungarian language is regulated by research institute of Hungarian sciences located in Hungary itself.

History of Hungarian Language

It’s believed that Hungarians were originally nomads. Although there are no historical evidences of this language existing but some loan words from Turkic makes historians believe that this language came into existence during Turkic times.

Around 896 BC Hungarian people came across Slavic people and people who spoke romance language. thus some words have been borrowed from those languages too and even Slavic and romance languages have interchange of words with Hungarian language. Interestingly it’s believed that almost 14%of Romanian vocabulary is originated from Hungarian language.

Hungarians had their own written system their own script called Hungarian script but unfortunately none of it is available today. the reason could be than King Stephen who was of Christian faith destroyed all pagan literature ad most of it was written in Hungarian script.

King Stephen was founder of Hungarian kingdom and declared it Latin state thus the language spoken there was mix of old Hungarian and Latin. ’Lamentations of Mary ‘ is of the oldest literatures found in Hungarian language. there was a time when Hungarian language used six types of verbs tenses in modern language only two remains. First Printed and published Hungarian book was from Krakow this was book about letters of saint Paul in Hungarian language

Language also borrowed loan words from neighboring languages Italian German and French and during Ottoman Empire was heavily influenced by turkey too. This could be period from 15^th to 16 Th centuries AD

Dialects

Alfold, West Danube, Danube Tisza, King’s Hungarian North east and north west Hungarian, Szekely, West Hungarian. The Hungarian Csango dialect of Hungarian language is spoken my Romanian people and is different than rest of the dialects. Csango also resembles the old and medieval period Hungarian

Grammar

Hungarian has 14 vowels and 25 consonants there are short and long vowels very similar in pronunciation only difference is duration while speaking. Length of Consonant is also distinct in Hungarian language. Primary stress is always on the first syllable of the word.

Hungarian Grammar uses various affixes, suffixes prefixes and circumfixes. Instead of prepositions they have postpositions. Two types of articles in Hungary one is definite and another is indefinite. Nouns can be till eighteen cases. Plurals are created using suffix from singular words

Importance of Hungarian Language

Hungary is developing rapidly in economy and tourism. Lots of world traveler are now looking for unexplored places the places which tourism had not touched before and due to that East European in becoming Important. As Most Hungarians do not speak English knowledge of their language acts as icebreaker. moreover the language itself has its own charm and as of now seems a mystery to rest of the world. Many of the exotic places are now visited by foreigners and it’s considered to be comparatively cheaper destination than Western Europe. Famous Tourist destinations are Budapest, lakebalton, pecs, Veszprem town, Nyerighyaza and many more either due to locales climate or affordability. And since most of the people only speak Russian or Hungarian it becomes very important to know at least one of the language. Thus due to tourism boom in this sector lots of employment is potentially generated for interpreters and translators.

Being a member of European Union Hungary is now coming up as strong country where investments are lucrative for rest of Europeans specially after fall of communalism and economic liberal policy of modern government its attracting business in all spheres.
