Bulgarian Grammar

Bulgarian speech can be divided into two main types mutable and no mutable. There is great grammatical variation in mutable part of speech where is there is no variation in immutable one

Nouns, Adjectives, numerals pronouns and verbs form part of mutable groups where as immutable ones are adverbs, preposition, interjections, conjunctions and particles of language

Nouns and adjectives have gender, case and defined structure and number. Thus adjective and pronouns agree with nouns and numbers in gender. Pronouns also are in number and gender.

There are three genders in Bulgarian language masculine, feminine and neuter. One can find out the gender noun by the way the word ends. Noun ending in consonants eg grad which means city ors in which is son are masculine. Noun with a and ya are feminine zhena which means woman or dastherya which means daughter. Nouns ending in ‘e’ and ‘o’ are neuter like dete which is child ezero meaning lake. Its difficult to know the genders in plural forms.
