Live casinos that offer Live Roulette (European Variation)

Live Roulette online is probably the most social of all the table games that may be found. Each player is playing against the house and the wheel itself and not each other along with there being plenty of time between spins to chat. This also means there is plenty of time to change a bet or add a chip to a number or line that a player all of the sudden fancies. Players also have the option to actually tip the croupier at many online live games.

Playing live roulette online allows the player not only to bet in the same fashion as the RNG version but they get to observe the action of the wheel spinning and others at the table actually placing their chips via the streaming video. There is also an option in many cases not only to chat with the dealers and pit bosses directly but also to socialize with the other players at the table.

The name "Roulette" comes from the French and loosely translated means "little wheel" due to the obvious shape of the game device. In the game, a croupier or "spinner" spins the wheel in one direction and releases a small ball about the size of a marble in the opposite direction at the top of the track. As the ball loses momentum, it slowly works its way to the wheel and lands in one of 38 pockets on the wheel; which are denoted by numbers and colors.

In the European version of Roulette, the numbers range from 1 to 36 and have an added slot for 0. The American version is basically the same with one small difference; there are two "zero" slots on the wheel; a single zero and one that has a "00" in it. The outside bets on both games are the same as well as the odds being identical for payout.

There are two types of bets that may be placed in general and variations on those as well. There is what is known as "inside" bets and also "outside" bets. The inside bets are when chips are placed on individual numbers or groups of numbers within the table layout and the outside bets is just that; betting areas outside the main number layout.

The numbers within the table layout are in rows of three, as in 1, 2 and 3 or 13, 14 and 15 and so on until they reach the last row of 34, 35 and 36. These are also delineated by alternating both black and red as a background color to each number starting with 1 being red and 2 being black, 3 being red and so on. The colors come into play when placing certain outside bets as there is a spot for selecting simply black or red without specifying a particular number.

Some basic payout odds for roulette are 35 to 1 for a number that is bet on straight up or by itself. A split, which is placing a chip between two numbers, is 17 to one. Should a player choose to place a single bet at the apex of four numbers at the same time, also known as "cornering", they will receive 8 to 1 odds should one of the four numbers be called.

The majority of the outside bets carry a much lower payout as the odds go such as even money of 2 to 1 for playing an entire column of numbers or selecting wither black or red. This is due to their odds being greater of hitting one of the numbers in an entire row of 12 rather than a single number played straight up. Many even money bets at an online casino will not count towards releasing bonus offer and the casino will state that in their bonus terms and conditions.
