When to Worry about Your Online Casino Enjoyment

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Do you know someone who had to stop gambling because it became an addiction? It can cause you to stop and think about your habits and wonder if you may have a problem. A gambling addiction can happen to anyone, from anywhere, who spends any amount of money on casino games. You don’t have to be losing money hand over fist to be an addict; your involvement simply needs to be of an addictive nature.

Symptoms of Gambling Addiction:
There are some well known signs and symptoms that you may need to stop gambling or at least scale back. Many don’t take signs of a gambling addiction seriously enough, but this sort of addiction can be just as devastating as a substance abuse problem. Some of the signs and symptoms of a gambling addict may include:

∙ Preoccupation with gambling. This can include a preoccupation with big wins and losses in the past, planning your next gambling moves, or thinking of how you will get money to gamble. Gambling should not be in the forefront of your mind at all times.

∙ Tolerance. This is in reference with the need of many people to start gambling with increasing amounts of money to fulfill the high that they get when they bet and when they win.

∙ Withdrawal when you are not able to gamble. Many people don’t believe that they have a problem but they begin to get irritable when they don’t have access to a casino, or even when they try to scale back on how often they are gambling.

∙ Using gambling as a means of escaping real life. Many people develop an addiction when they use gambling as a means of blocking out other things that may be going on in their lives.

∙ Chasing losses. This is a term that refers to those that have lost money and return the next day or in an hour or two to win their losses back. As anyone who is thinking clearly knows, chasing losses usually proves to be fruitless.

∙ Lying. Many people who have or are developing an addiction to gambling find that they have to lie to their friends, family members, and even professionals so that they can conceal the amount of time or money they spend gambling.

∙ Committing illegal acts to finance gambling would definitely make one assume that they have a gambling problem. If you have stolen something to finance your gambling, it may be time to get help.

Risking relationships is something that a lot of gambling addicts do, as well. Many times the addict is so preoccupied with gambling that they are unable to contribute in a positive way to their significant other, their friends, family members, or even to their job.

∙ Asking for others to bail you out. If you are borrowing money from others to gamble or pay off debts that have accrued because of gambling, it is a sure sign that you need to stop and get some help.

Online Gaming from Work: Not Advisable

Friday, June 20th, 2008

CrazyMonkeyCasino.com loves to bring you the new live casinos that offer the best live casino action. It is often overlooked the importance of being responsible when playing online casinos. We have all heard of people who have been fired or written up at work for sending personal emails or visiting their favorite websites. This has become a bigger and bigger problem for businesses whose employees have access to the internet at work and the addition of online gaming has only made inappropriate online use all the more prevalent. If you have been visiting an online casino while at work, you need to make it a thing of the past.

Don’t Be Tempted!

It can be really tempting on those slow days in the office to go ahead and visit your favorite online casino. It may start innocently enough by logging on and playing a few hands of poker during your lunch break or before anyone else gets to the office, but over time you’ll find that you stretch these games out longer and longer to the point where you are putting off work for “just one more hand” and this simply is not healthy. To avoid this problem you should not give into the temptation to play at your online casino at work ever! If you are lucky, your office has limited the number of websites that you can visit from the office server. More and more businesses are turning to this, so even if you try to visit the casino it will not be allowed. Regardless of whether your office has this type of system in place, it is never acceptable to play from work. One thing to keep in mind: even if you can access the site doesn’t mean that you should be.

The internet activities of most employees are monitored from time to time, and with some companies internet activities are monitored every day. You may visit the casino one day and get away with it, but if the company finds sees that you have visited it once they will go back and see how often you are doing this and for what period of time. You may feel confident that you will not get caught if you don’t get caught the first time, but don’t be so sure. Many employers will simply sit back and watch over a period of days, weeks, or months and when they see a distinct pattern develop you will be called into the boss’s office. Yes, you can lose your job for gaming online. It doesn’t have so much to do with what you were doing online but the fact that you were neglecting your work duties using company equipment. If you lose your job, where will you get the money to gamble with at your online casino? As you can see, it’s just not advisable to visit your favorite online casino when at work. Leave the gambling for at home! You’ll be glad that you did in the long run!
