How to Play Live Sic Bo

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Live Sic Bo dates back centuries in Chinese culture but it has become more popular than every in the last 10 to 20 years as Americans as well as casinos from all over the world start featuring the game.  Even if you have never played a game like this before, you will find it very simple, and of course a lot of fun!

The game is very simple to get started and continue playing.  The player can make as many or as few bets as they would like right on the Live Sic Bo table.  The player then shakes three dice in a tumbler or cup and tumbles them out onto the table.  When the dice come to a stop the bets are paid off accordingly.  There are 50 different ways to place bets in the game, so there are a variety of payouts available.  Payout combinations are generally listed on a table that is much like a roulette table.

There are many bet options but some of the most common are the small bet, the specific double, specific triple, any trip, big bet, specific total, pair match, and numbers bet.  A small bet is one that is under 11 and is won when the total of the three dice is between four and 10.  The payout with this type of bet is usually one to one unless there is a low triple.

The specific double refers to the player choosing a double, or two of the three dice, landing on a specific number.  The payout for this type of bet is usually 10 to one.  There are six specific double bets that the player can make.

A specific triple is the basically the same thing as a specific double, the player just chooses the number that all three of the dice will land on when they come to a stop.  There are six different specific triple options to choose from and the payout for this type of bet is 180 to one in most casinos.

Next, there is any triple.  This type of bet is one where all of the dice must land on the same number, but it isn’t a specific number.  The payout on this type of bet is usually 30 to one.

A big bet refers to a point total of all dice being between 11 and 17.  The payout is usually one to one unless the player rolls a high triple.  With this type of bet there are 108 possible combinations, all of which add up to over 10.

A specific total is a bet where the player rolls the dice betting that it will add up to a specific total.  The payout will depend on the total that is selected because there are a variety of number combinations, etc.

A pair match is one in which two of the three dice played make the pair that the player selected.  The payout is usually five to one on each pair selection and won.  There are fifteen different pair match bets that players can make.

What is Live Sic Bo?

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Live Sic Bo is an ancient Chinese game that has become popular all around the world over the last 10 to 20 years.  The game is known as Tai Sai and is a true game of chance.  The game was thought to originally be played with two dice that were shaken between and plate and bowl.  Today the game varies a bit as it is played with three dice that are in a special cage for tumbling.  The game remains very popular in Asian communities, but is seen in casinos all over the world as well as on Internet gaming sites.

Many are drawn to the game of Live Sic Bo because it is very simple to play.  While many newcomers to casinos and online gaming websites are intimidated by all of the card games and the knowledge that is needed to play them, Sic Bo is very straight forward, in fact kids can play this game!  The object of the game is basically to pick the numbers, or the combination of numbers, that will be on the dice when they are thrown.  Those that want to play the game and have a variety of betting options will be excited to learn that there are 50 different ways to place bets.  Those that play in a casino or online gaming website will find that there is also a range of payouts, some that pay as nicely as 180 to 1!

The game is quite simple to play.  First, the player will choose chip values that are on the edge of the table.  Next, he or she will place their bets, then they will tumble the dice and when they come to a stop the bets will be settled.  Players can then choose to bet again, and most do, as the game is simply fun and easy, and can have an addictive quality for those that want to play!

Live Sic Bo is a great game either in the casino or online because it doesn’t take much time, bets don’t have to be all that much, but there is a chance to win every time.  Many people like to play the game from home because it is somewhat mindless, as it truly is a game of chance, and they don’t have to get dressed up to go to a casino.  Many people like the game because they can play at any time online, they don’t have to wait for a table or wait for a game to start up.  This is a great feature of the game, to be sure!

While Sic Bo dates back a long, long time in Asian cultures it is as popular today as it has ever been.  Even individuals that enjoy playing poker, blackjack, roulette, and other traditional casino games enjoy playing Sic Bo because it is straight forward and a lot of fun.  With payouts as much as 180 to 1 it offers the potential to earn as much, if not more, than gamers can earn with other games.

How to Win at Live Sic Bo

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

If you ask ten different people how to win at Sic Bo you will probably be given ten different answers. The reason is that Sic Bo is mostly a game of chance; therefore you need to stick with the best odds. Those that are very straight forward will tell you that you simply need to come to the table feeling lucky and if you do that, the table can be yours.

To win at Sic Bo you must understand the objective of the game. The object of the game is for players to place their bet on a Sic Bo table with the ability to predict the outcome of the specific bet based on the totals or combinations of totals of three dice that are played in the game. When playing the game payoffs will vary because there is such a wide range of bets that can be placed. Multiple bets can be placed and they will be paid off according to the odds that are stated on the Sic Bo table.

It’s important to understand that there are three basic types of bets in the game of Sic Bo that include singles, multiples and sums, but these three types can be broken down into seven different bets. First, there is a dice face. This is a bet where the player can pick any one side of the six sides of the dice. If that number is rolled, the player wins even money. If two of the dice show the number the bet is paid off two to one, and if all three have that number the bet will be paid off three to one. It’s important to know that the house bet on this bet is about 8%.

Two faces is a bet that combines to specific numbers. If the player rolls the dice and those two numbers appear the house will pay off the bet at five to one, with the house advantage being about 17% with this type of bet. Totals are bets where a player can bet on the total of all three dice. The player can select any number from four to 17, and the payoff will vary based on the numbers that are bet upon.

A small or big bet is one that refers to the total of the three dice totaling in a specific range stated by the player. The small bet is one that falls between four and 10 and the big bet is one that totals 11 through 17. This is the best bet to make regardless of a lose on any triple stipulation because the house has about a 3% edge on this type of bet.

A trip is a bet that refers to a bet that all three faces will land on a particular number. The payoff is attractive for this type of bet, usually 150 to one, but that is because chance is against you on this bet. The chance of rolling a triple is 215 to one and the house has a 30% advantage on this bet. If you are feeling lucky the odds can really pay off, but even those that have been very lucky often lose on this type of wager.

Any pair is another type of bet and refers to a pair that will add up to a specific number. The wager will pay eight to one and the house holds a 33% advantage here, making it the worst bet at the table. This is the type of bet that experience Sic Bo players will avoid at all costs.
