Live Roulette is a game that dates back to 17th Century France and over the years has become one of the most popular casino games. Those that love to gamble the world over have adopted this game and made it their own. The Monte Carlo Casino, which is located in Monaco, is one of the most popular places to play the game of roulette as the game is very popular in Europe.
Roulette is a game that usually includes up to eight players, though this varies from casino to casino. Each of the players plays against the house or the dealer. The dealer is the individual that spins the roulette wheel and accepts the wagers and makes the payouts to players as is appropriate. There are two different types of Roulette wheels that players may see. Those that play in France or areas of Europe will play on a wheel that has 37 slots but those that play in the United States will more likely play on a wheel that has 38 slots, the increased number is due to the wheel having two zeros on it.
To keep the game straight forward, each of the up to eight players will buy in with different color chips and this is done so that each player and the dealer can keep track of the bets that are placed on each player’s behalf. When the game is over, the players that have won will exchange these colored chips for cash chips. Even the cash chips are usually color coded or have the value printed on them. Usually casinos have different colors for different denominations. When you have your cash chips in hand, you simply go to the cash desk where you are given the corresponding amount of money.
The game of roulette is played by placing your bet on any given number on the wheel including the number zero. Each player may place one or more bets on the table layout to let the dealer know what you have wagered upon. When each player has had a chance to wager the dealer will then spin the wheel and launch the ball. The players have the opportunity to change or place bets until the ball is about to stop and the dealer will say “no more bets”. Once the dealer says this, there cannot be any new bets placed or changed. When the ball has stopped the dealer will pay the winner or winners and the bidding will begin again as soon as the dealer begins to pay for the previous round of betting.
There are odds involved in Roulette. On a single zero or French Roulette table, the house advantage is 2.7%. On the double zero or American Roulette table the house advantage is 5.26%. This advantage is figured by paying the winners a chip or two less than what it should have been if there was no advantage at all. In short, this is the way the casino makes money even when they have to pay out.
