Each of the players are dealt two cards and a third card can be dealt according to the game rules.  If the point value for the first two cards total eight or nine it is called a “natural” and no more cards need to be drawn.  Hands in this game never exceed a total of nine because the first number of two digit numbers is dropped so if you had a total of 14, the count would actually be four.  The hand that is closest to nine wins the game.

There are some basic drawing rules for the game of Punto Banco that make it really simple to start playing right now, even if you are new to the game.  First, if your cards total zero, one, two, three, four, or five you will draw.  If you have a total of six or seven you’ll stand, and if you have eight or nine you will stand as this is considered a natural.
