| How the Cards Are Dealt in BlackJack |
When all of the players are at their seats the dealer will begin to deal the cards. The way this works is that the dealer will deal to everyone twice, starting at his or her left and moving to the right. After two passes in this manner all of the players will have two cards and the dealer will turn over one of his or her cards to show all of the players the value. If you are playing a shoe game you should note that the cards will be dealt face up and you will not touch them. If you are not playing a shoe then the cards will be dealt face down and you will be allowed to touch them to turn them over. If you are new to the game of Blackjack you may enjoy the shoe games because you don’t have to worry about when you can touch your cards and how to handle them.
When you are playing a game that is dealt face down you will need to remember that you are only allowed to touch the cards with one hand. You also have to keep the cards in that one hand over the table at all times. In addition, you’ll need to remember that any additional cards that are dealt to you after the first two dealing passes will need to stay on the table and will never be added to your hand. If you also play poker you will need to remind yourself of the rules of holding with one hand like you would in the game of poker.
When two cards have been dealt to all of the players, play will begin starting with first base, which is the player to the immediate left of the dealer. The player will look at his or her hand and indicate to the dealer if they would like to add another card to their hand or if they would like to hold and simply keep the cards that they have. Each player will have the opportunity to add more cards or hold and when each has made his or her decision the dealer will complete his or her hand and pay out or collect bets of all players.

The dealer may get a face card which would bring the total to 18. Dealers must stand on 18 or higher. So Player know that if the dealer gets a face card (valued at 10) then he'll win the hand. Player #1 Stands on 19
