Online Single Hand Blackjack Guide: CelticCasino.com

CelticCasino online single hand blackjackCeltic Casino
(NEW!) Blackjack's history is still not entirely known, but, it probably evolved from older French games like "French Ferme" and "Chemin de Fer." In French casinos around the early 1700's, Blackjack was first played, being called "Vingt-et-un" (which means twenty-one) at the time. Blackjack has been played in the U.S since the early 1800's. The game is named Blackjack, because, players get an extra remuneration with a hand of ace of spades and jack of spades as the first two cards. The black in Blackjack refers to the Spades symbol which is black.

Basic Rules

The Blackjack game in our casino has six decks with fifty-two cards per deck. The purpose of Blackjack is to have a total hand as close as possible to twenty-one while beating the dealer's hand, without going over twenty-one. In Blackjack, face cards count as ten, aces count as either eleven or one, and the face value counts for the number cards.

In case that you receive a ten valued card and an ace as your first 2 cards, you will win one and half times your wager because you have a Blackjack (for example, if you wager twenty you win twenty plus thirty for a total of 50). If you win against the dealer without having a Blackjack, you win the same amount that you bet (for example, if you bet twenty, you get your twenty plus twenty for a total of forty). If you go over twenty one in your hand, you go Bust and lose your wager. If the dealer and you achieve the same total (from seventeen and up), no one wins and your wager is given back to you in a push. A score of twenty one is beaten by a Blackjack, which consists of two cards.

Split

You can split your first two cards, if they have the same point value, into two stand alone hands by putting a second wager of equal value to the original wager. You can then get more cards dealt. If you get two aces and split with one of your hands totaling twenty one after the rest of the cards are drawn, it is only not counted as a Blackjack, just as a twenty-one.

Double

You may raise your opening bet by the equal quantity as your original wager, after you have been given the two cards and you consider that one extra card will give you the opportunity to defeat the dealer's hand. Your bet is doubled, and you are drawn to only one more card. The casino could have different rules as to when you are allowed to double. For example, at any moment after the initial two cards, total of the cards is from eight to eleven, or a total is eleven or ten. Revise this with the casino.

Insurance

Only if the dealers' first card is an ace, then insurance is offered. In Blackjack, insurance is thought as an independent game. Insurance gives you the chance to protect yourself in case that the dealer's hand is a Blackjack. To buy insurance, you have to put half of your opening wager by clicking the Insurance button. You are paid on a ratio of two to one on your insurance wager, if the dealer gets the Blackjack. For example, if you wager twenty and insure ten, if the dealer gets a Blackjack regardless of a tie or lost against the dealer you will get ten plus twenty for a total of thirty). You lose your insurance wager if the dealer does not get the Blackjack.

Checking for BlackJack

If an ace is shown, the dealer will look at the second face down card. The game will be over if the dealer's second card is a ten, jack, queen, or king (Blackjack). The dealer will win. But, if the dealer's second card is not a complete Blackjack the game will continue and the card will be kept face down.

Insurance is not offered if the dealer's first card is a ten, jack, queen, or king, but the second card will be looked at and if it is an ace the dealer will turn the card over, the game will be over by showing the value. The dealer wins. But, if the dealer's second card is not a Blackjack the second card will be kept face down for the game to be played.

The Game play Sequence

All of our games are played by starting the game, betting, playing, selecting the limits for the table, watching the results of your wager and game play options. We will talk about these steps of game play, and describe to you the necessary information for you to become an experienced player!

Game play processes are described below:

Game Start: A screen pops up after you choose a casino game from the game menu.

TableLimits

This is the game screen. The game screen has the game console, the game table, and some buttons.

Choosing the Limits for the Table: There is a screen that has three options of table limits that may appear before you start a game. These limits will affect your wagering-you cannot bet less than the minimum nor more than the maximum. These wager limits affect ALL wager areas. For example, in Blackjack, the limits affect every wager location individually. If you are not asked to select a limit for the table the game has a predetermined limit set by the casino and is shown on a table's plaque.

Bet Placement: Once you have selected your limits for the table, the limits screen will be shown (the limits for the table will still be shown on the table's plaque on right portion of the chip section). On the left corner, near the bottom of the table there are a group of chips, each chip with a specific value on its surface. There are one or several bet sections on the table. These bet sections are displayed with a lighter circle. In Keno, Roulette, Sic Bo, and other casino games you may need to position the mouse cursor to access the several bet sections.

To make a bet, press on a chip, and then press in the wager area. The chip that has the value you chose will show in the wager zone. The quantity on the chip will be subtracted from your current Balance and placed to your Bet.

To withdraw a bet, control-press the chip icon (click and hold the button "ctrl" from the keyboard and then press the chip icon). The bet will be withdrawn from the table, and its amount will be taken from your Bet and placed back into your Balance.

Spin/Roll/Deal: According to the game that you are playing, you have to begin a game by clicking the "Spin," "Roll," or "Deal" icons. These icons will be found in the middle of the table. When you click the icon, the cards are first dealt by the dealer, spin the roulette wheel, or spin the tumbler to commence the game.

Game Play: Each unique game has a different game progression. Games, like Blackjack, have a game play that evolves according to several levels where you have to choose amongst several plays. Other games, such as Baccarat, only have one level where the cards are drawn and the player either lose or win.

Game play is covered in extensive detail in the rules for every single game. To access these rules, select the game from the game menu located at the top of this rules screen.

Commencing a New Game: Once you have finished a game, you can play another game by pressing the "New Game" icon. Cards are reshuffled at the start of every new game, if you play a card casino game. At the start of following game, you are given the choice to re-bet. Re-bet puts the equal bets on the table that you put in the game you just played. Simply press on the "Re-Bet" icon!

The simple game play has been covered for all of the awesome casino games of our site. For a certain game instructions, choose the game from the menu on top.
