When you become accustomed to playing blackjack online you forget that the dealer that is running the game is working for you to enjoy the game.  It’s generally not possible to tip the dealers when you play online blackjack, but just because you play online a lot doesn’t mean that you should forget your manners when you step into a brick and mortar casino.  That being said, if you frequent an online casino that allows you to tip the dealer during live games you should definitely take them up on it.

Many people wonder why tipping dealers is important.  It’s all about how the casinos operate.  Basically, the casino is a money making operation and while we all know this, we don’t realize where they often cut costs, and that is with their staff.  Dealers like tips because it is the only thing that allows them to make a decent wage while standing behind the table.  Many wrongly assume that blackjack dealers are made of money, but before tips many of them are paid minimum wage by the casino!  Can you imagine living on minimum wage?

It’s Just Good Manners 
When you play online you can easily forget about casino etiquette, but you should always remember the people that provide you with a service on those occasions when you do go out to the casinos.  Many players don’t understand why they have to tip their dealer since they are choosing to be there, but you can liken it to a waitress at a restaurant.  She also chooses to be there to provide you with a service, but you are only paying for your food when you pay your bill and you tip her for her time and her help.  The same can be said for the dealer of blackjack, you are tipping them for their service. \

You don’t actually have to tip a blackjack dealer all that much, it’s just a way to say thank you and is actually the respectful thing to do.  In fact, you can consider if you don’t tip that table minimums would have to be increased as would drink prices because the casino would have to make up the loss in what they have to pay the dealers somewhere.  So, it’s in your best interest to tip when you are leaving a table! 
Don’t like the idea of tipping?  It’s not an issue; you should just keep with the online gaming and allow others to game at the brick and mortar casinos.  If you can’t stay away from the brick and mortar casinos, consider the fact that it is considered good luck to tip the dealer!
