HOW TO PLAY LIVE ROULETTE

It does not take much to learn how to play roulette. In fact, the game is so simple that it does not require any thinking at all. Roulette is also so addicting that it is possible to spend hours and all your money just on playing roulette. Roulette has always been a popular game, even in brick-and-mortar casinos.  There is a certain glamour that is associated with roulette, and high rollers dressed in tuxedos and long gowns are always attracted to it.  When roulette became part of the roster of games offered in most online casinos, it became even more popular as a wider base of players got acquainted with it.

And now, with more casinos offering live dealer versions of the game, where roulette players actually get to watch the croupier at work on the wheel through their webcams, the game of roulette promises to be more exciting.  It is a thrill that players do not have to leave home just to experience that.

How do you play live roulette?  The way the game is played did not change with the advent of live dealer versions of the game.  All the elements of the roulette are still there – the betting table, the wheel, the little white ball, and the croupier/dealer who operates the entire machine.

The object of roulette is to predict which number the white ball will land on after it stops bouncing on the rim of the wheel and after the wheel stops spinning.  Depending on the kind of roulette being played, a wheel may have 37 or 38 numbers on it.  The American roulette has 38 numbers: numbers 1 to 36, and the figures 0 and 00.  The European roulette, on the other hand, does not have the 00 figure.  The house edge on the American roulette is much bigger than that on the European roulette, so the European roulette is more popular among online casino gamers.

You only need to place your bets on the table when playing roulette.  There are two basic bets that you can make: the inside bet and the outside bet.  An inside bet is a wager on the white ball landing on a particular number.  You are allowed to make multiple inside bets on one spin of the wheel.  The outside bet, on the other hand, is an even bet on the position of the ball, not on the particular number it landed on.  You can only make one outside bet on one spin of the roulette wheel.

The game starts with the placing of the bets.  No more wagers can be made when the croupier/dealer calls out, “No more bets.”  She then spins the wheel and everyone simply waits for the wheel to stop.  When the wheel stops, then everyone will know whether their guesswork came true or not.  If your guess is right, you win.  If your guess is wrong, naturally you lose all the money you bet on the game.

Basic Rules in Live Roulette

With Live Roulette being, in all aspects, a game that depends on chance, the rules of the game are pretty simple. The focal point of the game is when the ball starts rolling as it is tossed by the croupier onto the table with the spinning Roulette wheel. The number on which the ball will land depends on chance. The only thing that does not depend on chance in a Live Roulette game is the number on which you place your bet, which, of course, you will have to choose from amongst thirty-seven or thirty-eight different slots on the table.

The Live Roulette game starts with betting. The bets continue until the croupier says so. You can place your bet and you can still change it if the croupier has not declared the end of the betting. This is usually around the time when the ball is slowing down and is just about to rest on a winning number.

In placing your bets, you need to know what the number on the Roulette table stands for. The numbers are not just simply arranged on the table. There is no set order for the numbers. Even the positions of the numbers are basically left to chance. A black pocket can be next to yet another black pocket, as well. This means that the colors are also random, and are not in any alternating or patterned positions.

There are different kinds of bets in a Live Roulette game. When you bet on any of the numbers from zero to thirty-six, these bets are called inside bets. However, outside of these numbers, there are pockets numbered with “1st 12”, “2nd 12”, or “3rd 12”. These pockets are equivalent to dozens. When you place your bets on these pockets, these bets are called outside bets. The bets are then identified based on the number of the pocket, its color, and whether the number is an odd or even. Thus, in Live Roulette, you can place an inside or an outside, an odd or an even, a black or a red, and a high or a low bet.

There are different betting rules in playing Live Roulette. The winnings of each kind of bet may differ. There are terms that are used to determine the bets placed. For example, a “straight up” bet pertains to a bet on any number. A “split bet” is a bet placed on the line between two numbers. This means that you are betting on both numbers. You can also try a “street bet”, which is betting on three numbers in a row. Betting on four numbers is called “corner bet”. Aside from the basic bets, there are also different betting combination such as the “line bet” which means betting on two street bets, or the “ column bet”, and the “dozen bet”.

There is a maximum bet for every Roulette game, which all depends on what is called ‘table limits’. The table limit or the maximum bet allowed is displayed on the Roulette table. This can vary from one Live Roulette game to another. The maximum bet applies only to straight up bets. For the other bets, the maximum bet are usually multiplied by the number of pockets you bet on. For example, you placed a split bet on two numbers. You will then multiply the straight up maximum bet by two to get the maximum bet for that wager.

Despite these basic rules, a Live Roulette game is usually a carefree game where players are just trying their luck. So when you play a Live Roulette game, make sure that you are only doing it to have some fun.

European live roulette is different than the American variation. The most important difference is the increased odds for European roulette. European roulette has only one green "0". This means that there are 37 possible outcomes with a payout of 1:35. The American variation has two green spaces "0" and "00". This means that in American version of roulette there are 38 possible outcomes with the same payout of 1:35. This could mean a big difference in the overall success !
